Microscopy Europe included in the ESFRI roadmap 2026

In a recent decision, the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) decided to include Microscopy Europe as a project in their “Roadmap 2026”, wherein ARTEMI participates as the Swedish node. The proposal was submitted by the Czech Republic in 2025. Being a project means that the research infrastructure is in the preparation phase is expected to reach implementation within ten years.

Being included in the ESFRI Roadmap 2026 recognizes a research infrastructure as a strategic priority for Europe. Roadmap status confirms that the infrastructure has demonstrated scientific excellence, and European relevance. Inclusion does not provide direct funding, but significantly political support and visibility, helping to obtain other investments and long-term commitments.
